The radio is in excellent operating condition and very good cosmetic condition with
a few small scratches and signs of use. This shortwave radio has the best sound of
any of the dozens of portable digital radios that we have ever listened to.
The sound
will easily fill up a room and the radio is a pleasure to listen to for hours on
end. This is primarily attributed to the dual speaker system and the excellent sound
system with BASS and TREBLE controls. The large 7" top mounted woofer is switchable
in or out to complement the 3" front mounted speaker. The reception (sensitivity)
is also excellent while the two selectivity filters are SUPERB! The lights for the
S-Meter and the LCD READOUT are working. The removable deluxe tilt stand / carrying
handle is included.
The bands that are covered are: LONG WAVE, AM, FM, and SHORTWAVE from 1.8 MHz to
26.1 mhz. The radio has 16 memories and receives Single Side Band (SSB) through a
BFO control. A large analog S meter doubles as a battery level meter. A ten keypad
allows the direct entry of the desired frequency.
A SCAN function will search through the bands looking for active stations. A large
carrying handle doubles as a stand for the radio. There is a 12 / 24 hour clock with
alarm capabilities.
The radio's dimensions are: 12 ½" x 5 ½" x 10" and it weigh 11 pounds. The controls
are: Band Push Buttons, Tuning, Fine tuning, On/Off, Volume, Bass, Treble, RF Gain,
BFO, Bandwidth - 6 kHz / 3 kHz, Woofer In/Out, Battery Check and Dial Light.
There
are exterior jacks with two included adapters for external antennas. There is a front
mounted headphone jack and rear mounted line out. There are 11 individual METER bandswitch
for the bands between 120 and 11 meters as well as LED light above the selected bands.
All controls and functions work well. The radio reception is excellent, the sound
outstanding, the dial bandwidth filters are excellent and the radio works with the
included AC cord or with 6 "D" cell batteries. The battery compartment is clean and
the telescopic antenna is straight.
All plastic panels and leather surfaces are in
excellent condition. A copy of the manual is included along with the AC power cord.
