This emergency radio system is a tremendous value just based on the money that you
will save over the next five years. Combined with it's wide frequency coverage which
includes local AM, FM and also a wide range Worldband Shortwave broadcasts it becomes
a tremendous value for all around use and especially for emergencies with it's multiple
power sources. By not having to purchase AA alkaline batteries as the unit comes
with a internal NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) batteries that can be recharged from
500 to 1,000 times without any memory effect. By keeping the radio continuously plugged
into the wall with the included AC adaptor/charger the NiMH batteries are always
fully charged and ready to use for any purpose including emergencies.
FOUR DIFFERENT
POWER METHODS ARE AVAILABLE:
1.) The internal NiMH battery pack can be recharged with
the included AC ADAPTER / CHARGER overnight and the radio will play for many hours
2.) A SOLAR PANEL can power the radio and/or recharge the internal NiMH battery pack
in bright light.
3.) A DYNAMO CRANKING SYSTEM will also recharge the internal NiMH battery pack if
you are away from an AC outlet or a bright light source.
4.) As a backup system should all else fail or if you prefer, you can insert 3 AA
Alkaline Batteries that can power the radio for a long time.
AM - FM & 2 SHORTWAVE BANDS ARE COVERED:
a.) The radio receives AM Medium Wave MW
band 525 kHz through 1710 kHz, FM 88 mHz through 108 mHz and SHORTWAVE coverage is
separated into two bands SW1, SW2 with the frequency range of 6.0 MHz through 12
MHz and 12.0 MHz through 22 MHz continuous.

COMPACT SW REEL ANTENNA
This reel antenna will improve the reception on the shortwave bands for any portable
shortwave radio. The reel antenna works with radios that have an external mini jack
or not. For those shortwave portable radios that do not have a mini plug external
antenna input jack a whip antenna adapter is included which clips to the lowered
telescopic antenna of the radio.
It’s compact and weighs very little so it’s great
for travel especially in a hotel room. Just plug it into the radio, extend the 16
foot wire from the reel and clip it to a high curtain or similar near a window for
much better reception that than the standard telescopic whip antenna.
