The ATS-505P is the world's first professional Digital Multi-Band Receiver offering the performance and feature of the more expensive table model receivers at an affordable price. This receiver typically sells for $139.95 at discount which is around half of the price of the similar ATS-909 that sells for $239.95 and has additional features and accessories included. This "P" packages includes the radio, carrying case, stereo ear buds, reel antenna and an AC adapter, all made by SANGEAN.

This radio has very good reception on all bands including Shortwave, FM (Stereo) and AM - Medium Wave. Frequency Coverage includes long wave from 153 - 279 kHz, AM from 520 - 1710 and shortwave continuous from 1711 - 29999 kHz and FM 87.5 - 108 MHz.

This is the least expensive shortwave radio with Single Side Band SSB reception and a large tuning knob currently available new from Grundig - Sangean - Sony who are the only major makers of shortwave radios.
